The Lower Main region – especially the so-called Mainviereck – is one of Franconia's most exciting red wine regions. Here, geological features, a mild microclimate, and centuries-old winemaking traditions converge.
🍷 A red wine region with character: While Franconia as a whole is known more for white wines like Silvaner, the Lower Main region has established itself as a red wine stronghold. The red sandstone soils, in particular, offer ideal conditions for grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir. These soils retain heat and ensure good drainage, which benefits the grapes. The mild climate along the Main River also supports the ripening of red wine grapes.
🏘️ Traditional wine towns: The region is rich in charming wine towns known not only for their wines, but also for their history and culture, in addition to Elsenfeld-Rück:
Klingenberg am Main: With approximately 30 hectares of vineyards, including approximately 23 hectares of red grape varieties, Klingenberg is the largest red wine town in the Franconian wine-growing region.
Bürgstadt: A traditional wine town with a long history of winemaking.
Großheubach: Known for its wine festivals and its proximity to Engelberg Abbey.
These towns offer numerous opportunities to experience wine culture up close, whether through wine tastings, festivals, or hikes through the vineyards.
🚶♂️ Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail: A special highlight for wine lovers and hiking enthusiasts is the Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail. This approximately 79-kilometer-long trail leads through the picturesque wine-growing villages of the Lower Main region and offers breathtaking views of the wine-growing landscape. There are numerous stops along the way to sample the regional wines.

🌳 Nature & Hiking Rück-Besinnungsweg (Reflection Trail): A 6 km circular trail with seven stations that invite you to pause and reflect. Each station features a work of art and a bench. Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail: This 79 km hiking trail leads through the region's vineyards, including Rück. It offers magnificent views of the Spessart and the foothills of the Odenwald. Himmelthal Monastery: A former Cistercian monastery from the 13th century, now used for cultural events such as the "Himmelthal Summer Concerts."
🚴♂️ Cycling & Outdoor Activities Elsava Cycle Path: A scenic cycle path along the Elsava River, ideal for family outings. Main Cycle Path: A cross-regional cycle path that leads through Elsenfeld and runs along the Main River. Mountain Bike Trails: There are newly designated mountain bike trails in the area, e.g. E.g., in Mömlingen, Sulzbach, and Miltenberg.

Sports Facilities: Elsenfeld offers various sports facilities, including soccer fields, tennis courts, a bowling alley, and a gymnasium.
🍷 Culinary & Culture Rücker Wine: The Rücker vineyards are known for their red wines. Visitors can sample local wines in the wine tasting room at Himmelthal Monastery every second Sunday of the month. Rück-Schippach Village Shop: A cozy shop with regional products and a "hot bar" for snacks. elsenfeld.de Cultural events: The community center in Elsenfeld is a central location for cultural events such as theater performances, cabaret, and concerts. Cycle, marvel, and enjoy.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 5 days before the scheduled check-in on the day of arrival.
Check-In
Please complete the online check-in form you received via email. Access is contactless via a key box. The code for the key box will be sent via automated email. If you have not received the access and key code 2 days before arrival, please contact us at the email address provided.
Check-Out
Check-out must be by 11:00 AM. Late check-out is available upon request for a fee.
Please ensure that all electronic devices are turned off and the access door is locked behind you! Please return the key to the key box by the door using the code you know.
House rules
1. General Conduct: The apartment must be treated with care. Furnishings, technology, and equipment must be handled with care. Changes to the furnishings inside and outside (e.g., moving furniture) are not permitted.
2. Smoking Ban: Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the apartment. Smoking is only permitted on the balcony or outside, and only with an ashtray. If smoke detectors/fire alarms are triggered, the person responsible – in case of doubt, the tenant with primary responsibility – will bear the costs.
3. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours must be observed from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Consideration should also be given to other residents during the day.
4. Visitors and Overnight Stays: Visitors must be announced in advance. The number of overnight guests must not exceed the number of people booked. Third parties may not stay overnight in the apartment without the landlord's consent.
5. Waste Separation and Disposal: Waste must be properly separated (residual waste, paper, packaging, and organic waste if applicable). The garbage cans are located on the access road, immediately to the left. Bulky waste is not permitted.
6. Cleaning and tidiness: The apartment must be left swept clean upon departure. Please wash dishes or place them in the dishwasher. Heavy soiling beyond normal use may be charged additionally.
7. Use of technical appliances: Appliances such as the stove, oven, heater, or television must be used according to the operating instructions. Damage caused by improper use is the responsibility of the tenant.
8. Pets: Pets are not allowed.
9. Prohibited activities: Drug use (including cannabis) and drug possession are prohibited. Possession or storage of weapons is prohibited. Prostitution or other commercial activities in the apartment are not permitted. Organizing parties is expressly prohibited.
10. Keys: If a key is lost, the guest is liable for any resulting costs (e.g., changing locks). The keys must be returned to the key box with the code provided to you upon departure. The access door and the key box must be locked.
11. Damage and Defects: Damage or technical defects must be reported immediately. The tenant is fully liable for any damage caused.
12. Parking Use: Two parking spaces are available and are intended exclusively for registered vehicles. We assume no liability for damage to vehicles.
13. Services and commercial photography and video recordings are not permitted in the apartment or on the property.
14. Departure: The apartment must be vacated by 11:00 AM at the latest (unless a late check-out has been booked). Windows must be closed, lights turned off, and trash disposed of.
15. Unpaid wine bottles will be charged an additional €25 processing fee.
16. Water, electricity, and heating must be used sparingly. (We do not charge a separate fee for this and therefore ask for fair treatment.)
17. Should the police, fire department, or emergency services be called during your stay, we ask you to inform us as the landlord immediately after the incident – regardless of whether you made the emergency call yourself or a third party.

19. Violations: In the event of serious violations of the house rules, we reserve the right to terminate the tenancy without notice and with immediate effect. In such cases, there is no right to a refund of the rent, and you must vacate the apartment and the property immediately.
General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
1. Scope: These Terms and Conditions apply to the rental of our vacation apartment to guests for short-term use for private purposes. The rental agreement can be concluded via various booking portals (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com, Fewo-direkt, etc.) or directly via our website. Deviating terms and conditions of the tenant will not be recognized unless we expressly agree to them in writing.
2. Conclusion of Contract: The rental agreement is concluded as soon as the tenant makes a booking and this is confirmed by us. By booking, the tenant accepts these Terms and Conditions. For direct bookings via our website, the same contractual terms and conditions apply as for bookings via third-party portals.
3. Rental Property and Key Handover: The vacation apartment described in the booking portal or on our website is rented with the specified amenities. Key handover will take place after individual consultation (in person or via key box).
4. An extension of the rental period requires our express consent.
5. Rental price, cleaning fee, and payment conditions: The rental price is based on the price stated at the time of booking. In addition, a cleaning fee of €50.00 per stay will be charged. For some booking portals, the cleaning fee is already included in the price. Payment is made according to the terms and conditions of the respective booking platform or – for direct bookings – according to the payment terms stated in the booking form.
6. Withdrawal/Cancellation: The tenant may withdraw from the contract before the start of the rental period. The cancellation conditions stated in the booking portal or on our website apply. The receipt of the notice of withdrawal is decisive. We reserve the right to withdraw from the contract in the event of force majeure or unforeseeable events (e.g., water damage).
7. House rules and code of conduct: The apartment must be treated with care. Damage must be reported to us immediately. The apartment is a non-smoking property. Pets are not allowed. Drug possession, cannabis consumption, and the carrying or storage of any type of weapon are strictly prohibited. Parties or events are not permitted. The house rules must be observed (available in the apartment and/or digitally on the website).
8. Liability: The tenant is fully liable for all damage caused by him or his fellow travelers. We assume no liability for valuables or personal belongings of the tenant. Damage to vehicles belonging to the tenant or his companions – whether on the property or in the surrounding area – is generally excluded from our liability. Our liability is otherwise limited to intent and gross negligence.
9. Data Protection: The personal data transmitted as part of the booking will be used exclusively to process the rental agreement. It will not be passed on to third parties unless required by law or necessary for the execution of the contract.
10. Final Provisions: Should individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions be invalid in whole or in part, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The place of jurisdiction is our place of residence, to the extent permitted by law.
